Faculty of Applied Science
UBC Engineering
Undergraduate programs
UBC Engineering provides students with extraordinary learning opportunities. You start by gaining a broad understanding of engineering principles in first-year before selecting one of the programs below. All lead to a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree. Course content is amplified through lectures, in cutting-edge laboratory facilities, in team-based projects, through early design experience and through a co-op option.
2nd-year placement
At the end of year one, students complete the 2nd-year placement process to apply for one of the 14 engineering programs available, which they will begin in second year. Students are encouraged to explore their options by visiting the open houses, reading through department pages, connecting with current students and faculty and doing some research of their own.
Graduate programs
Professional programs
UBC Engineering offers unique professional graduate programs (MEL, MEng) that aim to equip students with advanced field-specific technical knowledge. These programs help students become more specialized in an area and take their careers to the next level.
Research-based programs
UBC Engineering offers thesis-based research programs (MASc, PhD) that are designed for engineers wishing to pursue further research.
Women in Engineering UBC
