In 2006, CEMF and Vale partnered to provide two $10,000 Vale Master's Awards in Engineering for women in mining and metallurgical engineering or a related discipline.

As of 2009 Vale and CEMF offer one $10,000 Masters Award and three Vale Undergraduate Awards in Engineering for women in mining or a related discipline.

Winners also may receive a summer job opportunity with Vale, giving job, travel and professional experiences to the scholarship recipients.

Scholarship Winner Heather Rodger's Voisey Bay Experience

As one of the premier recipients of the Vale Masters Scholarship in Engineering, Heather Rodger was the first winner to participate in the Vale summer job opportunity awarded with her scholarship. Heather was able to postpone her placement until the summer of 2007 after completing her Masters degree.

CEMF provided Heather with contact information at Vale, and on March 14, 2007 she received a summer job offer.
