Christina Noel
Christina Noël is a third-year civil engineering
student with a specialty in environmental studies
in the Faculty of Applied Science at the University
of British Columbia.
She is actively involved with the Civil
Engineering Club and holds multiple executive
positions including Social Coordinator, Temporary
Academic Representative and serves as secretary
when required. She is also responsible for writing
and editing the department’s bimonthly
newsletter,
The Underground
, and remains an
active member of UBC’s Canadian Society of Civil
Engineers Student Chapter. She has been
involved with the Girl Guides of Canada for over
16 years and believes such organizations help
empower today’s young women. To round things
off, she still makes time for her community and
has volunteered hundreds of hours to local and
international charities, initiatives, associations
and organizations.
Christina Noël est une étudiante de troisième
année en génie civil avec une spécialité en études
environnementales de la faculté des Sciences ap-
pliquées de l'Université de la Colombie-Britan-
nique.
Elle est activement impliquée dans le Civil En-
gineering Club et occupe différents postes de di-
rection tels que coordonnatrice sociale et
représentante universitaire temporaire, tout en
remplissant les fonctions de secrétaire lorsque
nécessaire. Elle est également responsable de la
rédaction et de l'édition du bulletin bimensuel du
département, The Underground, et demeure une
membre active de la Canadian Society of Civil En-
gineers, section étudiante, de l'UBC.Et malgré tout
ça, elle trouve encore du temps pour sa commu-
nauté et a offert des centaines d'heures de
bénévolat à des œuvres de charité, des initiatives,
des associations et des organisations locales et in-
ternationales.

Palmer-Boroski
Andrea Palmer-Boroski is a fourth year
mechanical engineering student in the
mechatronics option at the University of British
Columbia and a strong advocate of women in
engineering. When she’s not concentrating on
her studies, Ms. Palmer-Boroski keeps busy
working with a multitude of engineering groups
and panels, mentoring younger students and
working with Engineers Without Borders (EWB);
an organization dedicated to improving the
livelihood of people in developing countries with
the overall goal of ending poverty. Last year she
was elected as the President of the Engineering
Undergraduate Society (EUS) and has made
considerable progress towards her goal of
making the EUS more accessible and inclusive to
all students, especially the first year classes. In her
four years at UBC she has fallen in love with the
engineering profession and would never
consider changing her field of study.
Andrea Palmer-Boroski est une étudiante de
quatrième année en génie mécanique, option
mécatronique, à l'Université de Colombie-
Britannique, et une ferventepartisanede laprésence
des femmes en génie. Quand elle n'est pas en train
de se concentrer sur ses études,MmePalmer-Boroski
est occupée à travailler avec une multitude de
groupes et de panels de technologie, à faire du
mentorat auprès d'étudiants et étudiantes plus
jeunes et à travailler auprès d'Ingénieurs sans
frontières (ISF), une organisation dédiée à améliorer
la vie des personnes dans les pays en voie de
développement avec l'objectif général d'endiguer la
pauvreté. L'andernier elle a été élueprésidentede la
Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS) et a
accompli des progrès considérables vers son but de
rendre l'EUSplus accessible et inclusivepour tous les
étudiants, particulièrement les groupes depremière
année. Aucours de ses quatre années à l'UBC, elleest
tombée amoureuse de la professiond'ingénieure et
jamais maintenant elle ne songerait à changer de
champ d'études.
